Re: [Audyssey] Upcoming article on the Death of The Audio Game Industry

Also I don't think samual is right.
Last week I think there was a published article that said audiogames
was becomming a seperate catogry for all who liked the challange of
audio and that it would not stop at the blind level.
The audiogames industry at its present form may vary well be at its peak.
However if its becomming indipendant, then who knows whats going to
become of it.
He has a servey anyway, which means he well he said he was not sure
and wanted more info.

I can respect his opinion, but I disagree fully. I almost consider it a

I do not think that the audio games industry has seen it's peak. I think
developers are only getting started. Audio games have been around for only
about five years. Rome was not built in a day, and neither are games for
the blind.

Subject: [Audyssey] Upcoming article on the Death of The Audio Game Industry

  Hi,

I just received this in my email which might be interesting for this list:

  Subject: gathering data
  Message:

  hi,

i'm in the process of trying to gather data in order to write an article
i've got in mind on the audio games industry. i believe that, due to the
limitations of the audio interface, this industry is currently at its
  height
and is destoned to go downhill from here. however, before saying
  something
of this nature, i'd like to gather more data and see if it really may be
  the
case, or if i am just reflecting my dissatisfaction with the industry onto
the rest of the world. first off, i have posted a survey at:
  http://fastfinge.livejournal.com/7642.html
for any audio game players who are interested to fill out and comment on.

second off, i am interested in speaking to any and all audio game
  developers
about where they see the industry going in the near and distant future, as
well as ideas for increasing the limitations of the audio game interface.
those with something to contribute can feel free to post to the entry
  above,
or email me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

  thanks!

Sigh I already had a look at his questions which are crap in my
professional opinion... but eh... you all have a go if you want to...

2006-04-24 Thread Ron Schamerhorn
Hi Richard

I'd like to say firstly thanks for the below info about the half-hearted
survey.
I've checked it out and think it's eventually going to prove to be
invalid.
Firstly, had you not brought it to the lists attention how many folks
would have ever read over it? I know we aren't yet the centre of the
universe with subscribers and such.
I disagree with the survey creator as it seems the limits of audio games
are being pushed consistently to reach for more. I don't think we are
anywhere near the death of audio games. More the infancy stage since
we've only had audio games for a handfull of years. There is more to be
done I'm sure with the interfaces and such.
I'll keep this and most likely reply to the limited questions he's asked
but have no faith in any results he may or may not find out. Also what
comes to mind is what experience has this person had with these games?
Perhaps he has been under a rock or something?

Ron
