Hi.
You did forget artifact hunting, archaeologic digging, atmospheric
salvaging, planatary surveying, planatary mining, asteroid hauling, having
parties, events, well yeah, that's about it lol. I play Alter Aeon myself.

I wouldn't. When I said it was a star conquest equivalent, I meant in just
about every way. So beyond salvaging and combat missions, there isn't
really

a whole lot you can do. I got bored with it real fast.

I don't want to mess with an rpg like holotrek because I am not going

Until I can get my char reroled in humanity moo or they fix the various

well I can but I obviously don't have any objects at all.
Miriani is just becomming bad, and I never stayed on it long enough to

I'm not going to spend hours and hours of my life playing but I need

well I just logged on miriani for a bit just to see, I honestly don't think I
will spend much time there but some of the star conquest ships have been taken
up, there is load more sc stuff in the game.
I havn't really bothered trying to play much though, since I have never made
enough cash to make it big, I have never understood the manual nav controls,
never have done any missions, I can deliver in local space and space salvage
and be a taxi from miriani but not much.

2008-11-02 Thread James Homuth
GWSE was good, but there were parts of it that were broken. The host who
developed Slipgate though didn't like a lot of things about it. He wanted to
essentially take GWSE's space system, improve it, and build his own plotline
around that. I don't know what Miriani's doing with their copy of the GWSE
base so I can't say, but like Star Conquest, if and when it does open up to
the public I don't expect we'll see too too much different from the
original.

No. Slipgate was Josh's attempt at recreating a better GWSE. He was one of
maybe 2 or 3 former Squidsoft hosts on that project. The Miriani answer to
GWSE I believe is called Stellarum or something, and is still in
development. As in not open for connections last time I checked.

They had out of local/comms on star conquest, too. The documentation for
those is even the same. All they really changed was the names of the
various

governments. Oh, and added a Miriani planet in sector 15. I could do that

Miriani and Star conquest are two different games. I know there has been
loads upon loads of confusion about this, so I will point out the
differences. First, however, I will point out the similarities.

The ship system, credits, points, space suits, asteroid hauling,
salavaging,

all the same. I'll admit that they hhave cloned this from Star Conquest
to

a key, however, without the messages. Even stun weapons probably too,
however, they are named differently.

That, hough, i where the games completely differ. Miriani in any way,
shape

or form, with the exceptin of those listed aboe is not starconquest. It
is

what is called a sister to it, meaning it's similar, and paralells it, but
it's completely different. From the other activities involved, to the
playerbase, and the hosts, they differ in every way possible. Miriani has
out've local and out've comms, with differences in artifacts, the way
surveying works, recharging, and I could go on. Missions are different

They had out of local/comms on star conquest, too. The documentation for
those is even the same. All they really changed was the names of the various
governments. Oh, and added a Miriani planet in sector 15. I could do that
and I can't code.

I wouldn't. When I said it was a star conquest equivalent, I meant in just
about every way. So beyond salvaging and combat missions, there isn't really
a whole lot you can do. I got bored with it real fast.

Star Conquest is Miriani. They're run by the same people, I do believe. And
they're working on a GWSE equivalent but honestly, I don't have much faith
in that one either.

I don't want to mess with an rpg like holotrek because I am not going to be

Until I can get my char reroled in humanity moo or they fix the various
things that happen after death of the char then I really can't use it, well
I can but I obviously don't have any objects at all.
Miriani is just becomming bad, and I never stayed on it long enough to

And the rest, slipgate legacy, etc seem to be offline or going offline.
One thing that was mentioned on the squidsoft community was a moo called

I'd really like something that has a scifi feel to it, for casual play.

2008-10-28 Thread shaun everiss
I should also like to add to the messages I am posting that I don't care for
being put in a war with things, well the same things.
Why does there have to be a war at all.
I am more into the startrek thing but the exploration part only not the wars,
ok a few battles but really thats all.

Well I'd really like a mud/moo you can do exploring, etc.
I don't want to mess with an rpg like holotrek because I am not going to be a
serious all day gamer since this stuff is just for relaxation really.
Until I can get my char reroled in humanity moo or they fix the various things
that happen after death of the char then I really can't use it, well I can but
I obviously don't have any objects at all.
Miriani is just becomming bad, and I never stayed on it long enough to really
enjoy it, I hardly mastered it.
And the rest, slipgate legacy, etc seem to be offline or going offline.
One thing that was mentioned on the squidsoft community was a moo called
milkeyway 2306 or something, is this still opperating or is this gone to.
I'd really like something that has a scifi feel to it, for casual play.
Also I wander what happened to star conquest there aparently is supposed to be
a new version but www.squidsoft.net just yealds a blank page.
If scc comes back up I may just join that.
I managed to read the last ever log, although it sounded quite rough at least
it was semi interesting.

Hi.
So what moos are out there for scifi users.
I'm not going to spend hours and hours of my life playing but I need
something to waste the ocational hour or 2 when things are just going
nowhere. all the squidsoft stuff is gone, holotrek is a rpg and I doubt
I'll ever complete a bio, etc because I really will not play that much.
Then well the squidsoft stuff has gone away and I really don't like
miriani. Slipgate legacy is shutting down, and humanity moo is still in
alpha and well not that I mean something by it but is there a good space
mud out there guys. maybe exploration etc. Or is this my lot. I don't
care for the standard hack and slash muds either.
