Thanks a lot for yoyr reply. I have tried chroot, however, I cannot apt-get
install any application, any suggestion onn how to make apt-get work to install
the required packages to get lib/modules ?

Not sure if it will help with an error, but it is definitely faster when it
comes to the compilation. Try to chroot into the image:
Mount the image: sudo mount -o loop,offset=32256 (image
name->)linux-x86.img /mnt
- Chroot into the image:
cd /mnt
sudo

the source code of the application that I need to install. and then unmount the
