Also why not just work in a branch of the Apache project?

I assume Baidu are willing to hand the trademark over to the ASF?
To avoid confusion it would be best if Baidu correctly uses the name as if it
Hi,

But that not the original source is it, as it is not ASF licensed. If you did
take ASF code from Kudu then that shovel bee listed in your NOTICE file.

Hi,
I think there are still issues with this both from a trademark point of view
and from a release policy point of view. The docker file seems to be getting
the latests version of teh code not the last released version. [1]
Thanks,

Hi Justin
1. [1][2] [3] code under /be/src/gutil/ is come from Apache Kudu
https://github.com/apache/kudu/blob/master/src/kudu/gutil/arm_instruction_set_select.h,
those file are also existed in impala's code

Hi,
I notice the project installation instructions e.g. [1] refer to this page [2].
That page needs a little work, IMO it should not mention Baidu as the owner for
starters.

Hi,
-1 (binding) due to LICENSE and NOTICE issues, possible GPL dependancy issues,
and possible font licensing issues. There might be an explanation for all of
these, if so I’ll consider changing my vote.
I checked:
- incubating in name
- checksums are fine
- LICENSE seems OK but it’s not

Hi
Can we deal with the two matters separately? Let's finish the release of
this version first, and we will continue to resolve the trademark issue. Is
this acceptable?

None of these names fit
But they are using Doris as a name. You have Baidu's team members in your
PPMC, then PPMC should take the responsibility to protect the branding.

Here is the article which is also confused in WeChat website. It is said Doris

But in fact, Apache Doris 0.14.0 is in voting progress

That seems to be a brand issue.
Doris is an Apache incubator project, so the name of the project `Baidu
Doris` will confuse users.

Hi Sheng Wu,

from Baidu(right?), why you are not using a new version?
The release of Apache Doris is only determined by the apache community, and
there is no possibility that BAIDU will vote and release the version
OK. I will check and fix the license header In next release, this thar OK ?

Doris 0.14.7 is an internal version of our baidu doris. It is not the
version of apache doris, so apache doris has not released version 0.14.

Hi
Doris 0.14.7 is a rolling version maintained internally by baidu. We will
regularly select committs from the community to the internal version and
release the version number. 0.14.7 has nothing to do with the community’s
0.14 release.

-1 (non-binding) from me.
I found an article https://blog.csdn.net/ucanuup_/article/details/115548997
which claims the 0.14.7 version was released.
Hello,
When I searched for `Doris 0.14` on Google, I found an article[1]
mentioning that Doris 0.14.7 has been released.
But I checked the historical release[2] and did not have this version.
In my understanding, 0.14.0 has not been released. Why does 0.14.7 exist?
