ftps and sftp are different things.
sftp is a service offered by ssh; ftps is ftp over ssl, similar to https.

Turned out that nvidia module was not loaded :) - so a simple modprobe
nvidia fixed the problem.

mozilla-1.7.3 in the current portage tree due to some compilation
problems (and xorg depends on freetype 2.1.9, so it's like xorg is
blocking mozilla).

I finally elucidated part of the mystery: it seems that my old xfree is
now seen as xorg-x11
Although I have the defunct xfree-4.3.0 installed, according to portage
I actually have xorg-x11-4.3.0.
So I simply have to do a xorg-x11 upgrade, that's all.

I have an old gentoo system (2004.0), and I want to upgrade to 2005.0.
I have xfree installed, but it's no problem installing xorg instead, but
I would very much like to do it clean, by uninstalling xfree.
And here comes the problem: xfree is not in portage tree anymore. emerge
-C
, or is it some misusage that could lead to this?
Any ideas what sould I do now?
