This may be something you want to make note of. I guess it changes the

Funny you say that last part. That's just what I did. I was fine with
Ubuntu until the network stopped working for no reason. I certainly
changed nothing. When I couldn't figure it out, it made me think about
using Gentoo instead. It went from adequate to needing something else.

billions.
I do wonder, can one still put things like memtest, Knoppix and such in
that thing? I'm sure it can be done but never seen it mentioned. I
started to put it on the old 770T but didn't now that I have that Ventoy
USB thing.
It's going to be a while before I have to do this. I still haven't

Now that you mention that, there isn't much difference in price between
the two, depending on who I buy from. There are some good deals for

Fireball does. So, it seems Fireball has it, older 770T NAS box does

One thing I did learn about LVM. I hooked the drives I had on the old

used cryptsetup as usual and off it went. I've never did that before.

The responses I'm getting sure are interesting. Some I've seen but
never thought of using myself. After all, it was a TV show, sometimes a
history documentary or something. Reading about it here, it makes sense.
Oh, like the signature too. ;-)

H,
For some reason, I didn't get Michael's email. I see him being quoted
but don't have his original. I wonder what is up with that. O-o

Heck, a link to some good info on that would be good. :-)
Thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?

While just emerging them first might work, it also limits emerge to just
doing that package instead of the whole update. It also could have
dependencies that also want a lot of resources. I don't know about most
people but I run my updates while I sleep. Having the option to set
that up would be nice. It's not like packages are getting any smaller
either. This is a growing problem.
I have no idea how to do this but I do like the idea.

Oh, I don't care much for all the fancy lighting stuff. I tend to
disable that pretty fast. If you can find one that is rather plain,
bonus points. I also air cool, no water cooling.
Ideas? Links?

Any ideas?
