Also if you dont want to do thos globbaly for all your packages you can make
use of /etc/portage/env/.
For example this is what i have for amarok in
/etc/portage/env/media-sound/amarok
CFLAGS=-march=core2 -O1 -g

Dear All,
To be honest, I've never thought that I'm going to say that gnome is
fantastic. I was always xfce and KDE user and I never was not able to
understand the philosophy of Gnome. But, Gnome3 is amazing! Simple and
easy to use. Not to mention that it has eye candy in a good way and
doesn't

Dear All,
Has anybody experienced that the Chrome browser is able to eat all of
memory? I have this issue on both Linux and Win 7 as well. I assume
flash could be the main issue. However, facebook, gmail and g+ eat
more than 100 MByte memory.
It's annoying...

Has anyone done something like Gentoo on mscc+Win32 or Gentoo on

May I ask what would be the benefit of it?
Dear All,
I have been trying to fix my svn repo for hours but I don't know what
a hell happened here.
I'm not able to commit and update my repository. I always get this
message independently I do it with simple user or root, however, it is
possible to reach my repo via file:/// protocoll.

Dear All,
I updated my system and there is a new gentoo-sources version
3.2.0-gentoo-r1. I reconfigured my system to use this kernel and I
compiled the kernel with genkernel. But there is no compiled file
under /boot directory. Did I missed something? Is there anything new

Dear All,
I'm totally lost in settings especially fonts and Netbeans!
So, I'm using Netbeans to develop my java things. Version 7.0.1. looks
beautiful because it uses Ubuntu fonts. As far as I know Netbeans gets
this font information, I'm speaking about the window fonts and not
about the editor
Dear All,
I would like to ask what should I do in this case? I would like to
make a new kernel using genkernel but there is no 1.8.1 version of
busybox and it's not available in portage. To be honest I don't want
to do a new kernel by hand despite the fact it would be a few

Dear All,
I have been googling for a while to find the answer for the question
how on earth I'm able to set up the default keyboard layout of slim,
but I haven't find any answer for this.
A few articles say that if the keyboard layout is set up in xorg.conf
than it will be okay. It doesn't work.

For the most part I would like to keep icedtea-bin-7 as my system VM,
