Hi List,
I came across this feature request when searching for information on an
out of memory error we were having in GeoServer 2.4.2 connecting to
postgis 2.1 using a JNDI Data Store. This problem does not appear to
be related just to Oracle and I believe was causing the out of memory

I have a website which connects to a geoserver, it fetches session from

Hey guys,
I am very new to Geoserver. I was browsing through a tutorial , and the
tutorial required me to play around with sample layers from OpenLayers.
According to the tutorial, Geoserver comes with sample layers.
I did not find any, so I tried to load a kml file via import data in spatial

The session time out is configured in your J2EE Container (Tomcat,
jetty,...). Geoserver itself does not handle session cookies directly.

Hi,
This is better placed on the users mailing lists; The developers one is for
discussion of GeoServer development.
That said, your problem sounds like your install has gone wrong. GeoServer
can't seem to find the data directory which is why there are no sample

I think you have just found a gap from when we extended SLD to support
expressions for dynamic marks. Technically SLD should only allow a String
for WellKnownName, I would expect the expression to be encoded as a String

Do you agree in having a full encoding of the WellkownName element (i.e.
its expression):
encodeValue(WellKnownName, null, mark.getWellKnownName(), null);
