Hi Chris, openlayers and the desktop clients are making pretty much the same OGC requests, so I don't believe you can tell them apart using the built-in authorization mechanism. But the mechanism is pluggable, so you could write your own that checks the incoming requests for hints... hard to find

I'm not sure I'm following you. Perhaps you can explain your specific scenario in a bit more detail? Can you say exactly what the source format is (i.e. what are you loading to the geoserver store)? Can you say what format you are requesting the WFS service to provide the feature(s) in? Can you
