My main PC dual boots between Windows 10 1803 and kubuntu 18.04.1 LTS.
I would like to be able to run get_iplayer on whichever OS happens to be
running, as I do, for example, with Thunderbird, where I have both
profiles pointing to the same message base.
In the case of get_iplayer I would

I am someone who pretty much exclusively uses get_iplayer for radio 4
programmes, mostly with the web interface but sometimes with the command
line, I use the default settings rather than specifying any

You know, it would probably useful for our general cause were you to
share that here

That's interesting thanks. Hidden repeats is something i'm very much
keeping my eye on. One of the recent examples was "Room 101 - Extra
Storage"
I used that, got a reply saying it wasn't an appropriate venue for voicing my
type of complaint, or words to that effect. I never really understood what they
meant. Maybe they simply meant "your complaint contradicts policy so there is
nothing that can be done".

hello
I have been able to download the episodes by pasting the pid into a a
command line.
~/get_iplayer-3.17/get_iplayer --verbose --mode=best --type=radio
--pid=b04g10zc,b04fc80v,b04dqlbv,b04d4sbs,b01380pf,b0132k50,b012ww6h,b012r6jq
.get_iplayer/radio.cache is populated with future programs

I tried. I couldn't find any means of conveying my view to the BBC. They seem
to have shut down all routes for feedback from licence fee payers.

What they don't seem to make any allowance for is people like me. I do NOT want
to login to access BBC radio and I do NOT want a personalised view of BBC
content. I much prefer seeing the schedule for the stations and selecting
something to play from that.

Aha - but it is now Sounds - and get_iplayer for Radio doesn't work anymore.

Hi,
The Radio 4 schedule is currently pretty useless. I have started feeding
it through my `chkNew' script to detect hidden repeats. Last week I
found: seven admitted repeats, one false admitted repeat and 31 hidden
repeats.
Until the Beeb fixes it, or until they tell me to desist, I will post
17 matches
