I was just curious if there are any plans add the ability to scale and
rotate the standard brushes with python ? I did a quick search in the
procedure browser but didn't see anything except the functions for the
generated brushes...

reference.pot'? The easiest way to do it is to run 'make update-po'.

The file was missing from po-script-fu/POTFILES.in
All files containing translatable strings need to be listed there,
so it's not your fault.
I've added it now, just svn update
