 glibs and insatll newer ones.)
So I downloaded 2.2.12 into its own directory, and compiled it.

Don't know the disease but I found the cures. first I wiped out
everything in /usr/local/share/gimp. I also wiped out the gimpish
files in my home directory. 2.2.12 still didn't want to play
nicely so I recompiled 2.3.9. The xsane problem may have been
related to cross-partition problems so I just copied it to the
plug-in directory instead of linking it. Now all I have to do is
correct the persistent problems with PostScript output. It still
creates offsets, horizontal and vertical, by default. This requires
minor surgery on the source.

[Gimp-user] problems scripting plugin-in-dog

2006-08-02 Thread John Storey-Bishoff
Hello,

I was trying to apply the DoG edge detection plug-in
in a script and have been seeing the following errors.

(gimp:5944): Gimp-Core-CRITICAL **:
gimp_drawable_mask_bounds: assertion
`gimp_item_is_attached (item)' failed

(gimp:5944): Gimp-Core-CRITICAL **:
gimp_drawable_mask_bounds: assertion
`gimp_item_is_attached (item)' failed

(gimp:5944): Gimp-Core-CRITICAL **:
gimp_drawable_shadow: assertion `gimp_item_is_attached
(item)' failed

(gimp:5944): Gimp-Base-CRITICAL **: tile_manager_get:
assertion `tm != NULL' failed

If you have had success using this plug-in in a script
could you let me know.

I am essentially:
- loading my image
- creating a new layer
- running the plugin passing in my image and drawable
layer.

Here are the commands I'm using.

(file-dicom-load 0
/home/storeybish/a/scans/mri_july25/links/13526192
/home/storeybish/a/scans/mri_july25/links/13526192)
(gimp-layer-new 1 480 768 2 layer 100 0)
(plug-in-dog 1 1 3 4.0 12.0 1 1)

This also leaves the undo stack in a bad state.

If I display the image before applying the plug-in-dog
I can run the edge detection manually.

Any help appreciated.
Thanks,
John

[Gimp-user] can't open file, pango assertion failed

2006-08-02 Thread Andrey Voropaev

Hello!

For some reason my gimp can't open files anymore. When I do File-Open
it immidiately crashes. On the screen I get the text:

Pango-ERROR **: file break.c: line 780 (pango_default_break):
assertion failed: (IN_BREAK_TABLE (break_type))
aborting...

That's really weird, because it used to work before. Just in case I've
installed the latest version of gimp (stable) but the problem still
exists. Maybe someone may tell me where the problem could be? I did
search for this error in google and it returned the same problem in
amule, again, only single user had it.

Just in case here's the ldd output for my gimp.
