How do I create a clickable hotspot in GIMP?
I have a BMP image that I want to put on the web. When you click on

Thank you. I can create the hotspots on the picture I'm using but how
do I add it into my web page? I'm using Kompozer which doesn't want to
import the thing.it's a MAP file or some sort of thing.
Any idea what to do?

Is there an online GIMP tutorial?
I've seen some of the versions but they're out of date and refer to GIMP
parts and menus that aren't in the version I have.

I can't even figure out how to see the layers list window that everyone
in the easy tutorials is talking about.

I'm sure you folks are all experts at GIMP but I've found it to be a
very hard to learn how to use. But how many hundreds of hours did it
take you to learn how to use it?
For example- the tutorials are mostly out of date and they usually
tell you to click something that isn't even present in
I'm trying to figure out what the button Keep Trans is supposed to be

I've noticed there are a lot of plugins that are available for GIMP.
Say for example you find a gradient plugin.
Where do you install it?

Gimp locks up too often on my computer. It just stops working and the
screen turns gray and then the entire computer stops responding to
commands so I can only shut down by pushing the power button and rebooting.
No other program on my machine locks up except gimp.
How can I fix this?

I'm trying to create a good web button result from the
FileCreateButtonsRound buttons
The button as made is too small to be useful on a web page and if I drag
the button to make it larger the resolution looks awful.
Is there a way to fix this?

How can I cleanly cut out that part and copy it as a seperate image?

Thanksthat helped.
Here's what I did (using GIMP ver. 2.6.8)
1. Clicked Scissors Select Tool
2. Traced the outside of the object I wanted.
3. Clicked Edit - Copy
4. Clicked Edit - Paste as - New Image
