I started with the redhat6.1 distribution and had to upgrade glib, gtk, Gtk-Perl, Gimp-Perl, PDL before I could get 1.1.19 to build cleanly. This is not a simple or pleasant experience, BTW I did also have to add/upgrade to get 1.1.19 to build and install right. Although, I'm using Redhat 6.2

Other image manipulation programs I've used let you see the x,y coordinates where the mouse is. When dragging to create a rectangle some will show the x,y and the relative x,y of the start and the current mouse position in the box being made. With gimp, I can only see the rulers which don't
