more fonts?
Hi there! In the Gimp FAQ, I found a hint for using the "freefonts" and the "sharefonts" as additional fonts. Nevertheless, I would like to have an even bigger choice. Does anybody have further links to more fonts usable in XFree86 an Gimp? Thanks for any hints, Matthias -- http://www.selflinux.de [EMAIL PROTECTED]
unable to open swap-file
Hi there! I just compiled and started gimp-1.1.18. When I open a pic now or create a new one, I get an error message "unable to open swap-file... BAD THINGS WILL HAPPEN SOON". Well, what is the correct option or permission to allow the gimp to open a swap file? Thanks for any hints. Well, what is the correct option or permission to allow the gimp to open a swap file? By the way - I seem to have a problem with this mailinglist. I didn't receive a mail since a long time (some months), but I did´t unsubscribe. When you answer to this mail, please send a cc to my personal adress. Maybe you also know, what I made wrong with this list. Thanks for any hints. what´s a gimpswap-file?
Hi In my ~/.gimp directory I find some files named gimpswap.xxx, where xxx stands for different numbers. Those files are rather big (some of them a lot of MB), and I would really like to know, what are these files for. Can anybody tell me? Thanks. compling gimp on a foreign system
Hi all! I have a (hardware/signal 11) problem with compiling gimp on my local system. So I tried to compile it on a foreign machine and copied the whole folder with the binaries to my local system. Then I typed "make install" as root and hoped that everything would be ok. The system is nearly identical to the foreign system, where it is no problem to install and run the gimp now. But on my local system, gimp doesn´t start. Can anybody tell me, what points have to be respected to make the binaries run, which are compiled on a different system? Thanx for any hints. snapshot from xdm/kdm/gdm - login
Hi all! For tutorial purposes, I want to make snapshots of the login-interfaces of xdm/kdm/gdm. Unfortunately, before a login I cannot run gimp - so how shall I do a snapshot here. Any ideas? Matthias -- SelfLinux http://www.selflinux.de [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: snapshot from xdm/kdm/gdm - login
Am Mit, 22 Dez 1999 schrieb Mike Markowski: I've done this before with xdm, but the details are on my linux box at home. It involved just putting in an "xv" command in one the xdm setup files so that the command was run when the login widget was displayed (probably in XTakeConsole). If this general description isn't enough, let me know. When I get home tonight I'll send you all the details. Hi Mike! As my personal mail led to a mail error, I send this to the gimp-list again. Up to now, I´m not very familiar with the xdm setup, nor with xv (which is rather fat!). It would save me from reading "a couple" of documentation pages, if you could send me your solution.
