Version 1.2.0 and JPEG/PNG
I've compiled ans install the 1.2.0 version with success but I can't load any JPEG nor PNG files ??? I can't pass the "configure" stage with version 1.2.0, for a strange raison, I have glib 1.2.8 and gtk 1.2.8 installed but there is no "gtk-config" script on my machine (Linux - Mandrake 7.2 - P-III 800mhz - 128M) *** Could not run GTK test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. See the file config.log for the *** exact error that occured. This usually means GTK was incorrectly installed *** or that you have moved GTK since it was installed. I'm runnig Mandrake 6.2, with glib-1.2.7, gtk+-1.2.7, Gtk-Perl-0.6123 and Perl 5.005_03 ! What do I need to upgrade ? I started with the redhat6.1 distribution and had to upgrade glib, gtk, Gtk-Perl, Gimp-Perl, PDL before I could get 1.1.19 to build cleanly. This is not a simple or pleasant experience, BTW - I would not do this upgrade on any machine running mission critical stuff. (FWIW, ppport.h comes with PDL-2.003 and Gtk-Perl-0.6123, but I suspect you'll encounter more problems w/o a full lib upgrade. Gimp1.1.19 and Perl
