Are you using Windows?

And does it say anything more than "Runtime/C++ Error" ?

Yeah, Windows Vista.

And, yeah - that stuff's basically gone away since I've re-installed it again,
but now it says it has to do something with the GIMP shortcut in my "bin"
folder, so I thought 'Oh, okay...' and clicked on the GIMP 2.8 icon for it to
load from there.. but it gave me the same error, the one that I just mentioned,
and it always has something to do with "terminating in an unusual way",
'thanks' to Runtime. I'm looking through all my folders now, but there doesn't
seem to be a problem.

[Gimp-user] jpeg files not recognised

2012-11-01 Thread muffinn
Thanks for the input/suggestions. Re-installation did not work so I heeded what
has been said here and deleted all folders relating to GIMP in all locations
and tidied registry with CCleaner and now all works correctly.
Thanks.

Is your Windows set to use 16-bit colour mode? There's a known problem with
GTK+ if that's the case - change Windows to 32-bit colours.

How do you do that? I mean, do I go to control panel? I really don't know what
the problem is, but if it helps I use Windows Vista/desktop.

[Gimp-user] text tool chanes text properties when i paste over old text content

2012-11-01 Thread realbezo
Hi, i switched gimp 2.6 to 2.8 and new text tool behaves strangely, as i
remember in gimp 2.6 when i try to change text content with selecting old text
and pasting new text i could use same text size and same font with my old text
without doing anything but now in the gim 2.8 whenever i try to change content
of a text layer i need to choose again font and text size from toolbox options,
but why do i have to do this, i have a text placed on my image with a certain
font and certain font size and i just want to alter my text conten not the size
of text or font , it changes automatically to back text size and font whatever
i used last time in another work.

summary: i want to change my text content without setting my font and font size
properties, i want to use my text layers old properties, please give the
feature back...
