I have a problem using the 2.8 system.
When I select a photo to edit i.e remove the background I use the free select
tool I pick out the parts of the photo that are required, then I hit the delete
key on the computer what happens next is that it removes the photo and leaves

1. Select one small portion of the image and drag it? I tried using the select
tool and can't make it work.
2. Negative or reverse color polarity. Ie: reverse color profile. White to
black. Black to white for example.

These are basic Gimp functionality. I suggest the introductory manual

Time to fork off BABL and GEGL. Forking was good for Openoffice. LIbreoffice is
kicking tail. Developers who want to turn out a good product in a timely manner
and other programmers who want to wait 3-5 years for small improvements. LOL

I like the new save vs export behavior. The only thing I might change if not
already in Gimp in a way in preference to put the export formats i use most
often to the top of the drop down list.
