[Gimp-user] Canon 6700D bugs Gutenprint 5.2.10 fix ASAP
Hello, there is allot of bugs on Canon 6700D printer driver. Since the gutenprint at sourceforge is dead, I'm posting here. Perhaps somebody know how to fix this. The printer prints OK only in Plain paper see for screenshots http://www.printerknowledge.com/threads/gutenprint-the-poor-mans-rip.9549/page-2#post-77610 The printer does not print in high resolution mode no matter what setting is selected. With one clogged nozzle I get lines is the print. Printer prints 2x faster than with original canon driver on photo papers. [Gimp-user] Text Problem in 2.8.14
I upgraded and cannot make the text work - a layer appears and I can see the text in the layer but it will not appear in the text box on my image. It worked in earlier versions - please help as I am making XMAS cards - thanks in advance... Even if not Gutenprint, I'm sure there must be some other project at least remotely maintaining these drivers (I tried to search a little, but I can't even find a Canon 6700D, there is a Canon iP6700D though, is it the same?). This said, I see on their webpage that they had a release in May 2014; and even though they have very few commits, I still see they make a few commits a month. So it does not seem completely dead to me. So I will suggest you go ask the project maintainers directly. There is nothing we can do here. Thanks. Jehan Yes the 6700D and iP6700D or Pixma 6700D is the same printer. I left ticket open at sourceforge maybe you are right they will see it. The printer is very good back from 2008 :) I hope somebody fixes it as I'm not sure how to contact the developers. Are you saying you can see the text where it is the default name of the layer in the layers dialog (usually in a separate window to the right of the image window)? Check to be sure your foreground color is different from the background layer over which you are creating the text. When you click to insert a text layer, that layer is inserted above whatever the currently active layer is. If you want the text on top of everything, make sure the active layer is the upper most one (the top one in the layers dialog) before you activate the text tool and click to insert text. Alternately, check to be sure there are no other layers on top of the text layer.
