Re: [Gimp-user] Help with Selection Tools Issue
Main reason why it did not work for jpg is that it doesn't have its own alpha channel, therefore when you deleted selection, Gimp filled it with background color (black by default). As somebody above mentioned, you need to add alpha channel to layer with image. Then after removing selection, it will be transparent. Even better way is to add layer mask. (that will cause non destructive transparency that can be tweaked) On Tue, Mar 13, 2018, 1:51 AM Tangocatwrote: > Thank you Rich for the response. > I think I fixed it...at least I hope I did lol. What is you tile cache size set to (see Edit>Preferences>Environment)? This is the max RAM Gimp will use, and beyond this it performs its own swapping to disk, which reduces performance dramatically. If your I/O rate increases around the 60th image, you may have an explanation. Well, that would solve the problem of resizing the layers to fit the canvas, at least if the canvas is larger than and includes all the content of all the layers. But sometimes layers are offset from the canvas, and have content outside the canvas. As far as I can tell, this is just a default used when you start Image>Canvas size. So, nothing really changed since 2.8. ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
