Re: [Gimp-user] Gimp 2.6.11 crashes my computer
Hi Paul, It is hard to tell what might be causing this problem just by knowing that GIMP crashes while saving a file. Is there any error message or similar that appear which may have information about the crash? However, GIMP 2.6.11 is an old version of GIMP. Try installing the latest one, 2.8.14, where any bug causing this problem might have been fixed. Paul Schroeder skrev den 2015-03-31 17:13: Hi- I have been using GIMP for years. Just downloaded 2.6.11 on my PC (Windows 7, FoxFire) and it loads OK but when I try to save a file it freezes and crashes my computer. I reinstalled it 3 times always with the same result. Anyone else having this problem? I can't remove the white background of this image. If I try to make it transparent it will become edgy/pixelated. Yes I've tried blur also, and glow, and stroke line. The best method that I found for this one was to use the eraser and remove pixel-per-pixel. Re: [Gimp-user] Unistalling GIMP
Hi, Since reinstalling GIMP does not seem to work, perhaps you can tell us what problems you are having that makes you want to reinstall in the first place and we could try to address those instead? If the purpose of the re-installation is to reset your preferences to default, there is a built-in feature for that under Edit Preferences. Philbeaux skrev den 2015-02-14 18:02: Hello, I'm having some problems with GIMP so I've tried to uninstall it 3 times now. I've deleted the gimp 2.8 folders from my User directory as well and every time I re-install all my settings are the same as well as the same issues prevail. I've also rebooted and run CCleaner after each uninstall too. So tell me, how do I remove GIMP completely? ___ gimp-user-list mailing list List address:gimp-user-list@gnome.org List membership: https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user-list List archives: https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gimp-user-list
Re: [Gimp-user] Are Plug-In Covered under the license as well?
GIMP plugins have individual licences. What license they have can be seen in the GIMP Plugin Registry. Chroma Key is licensed under the BSD-license which means you are free to use it for commercial purposes. I can not say for sure, but I think all official GIMP Plugins (which are those available at registry.gimp.org) are required to be under FSF-approved free software licenses, which means they can all be used commercially.
