I cannot figure out why my tablet is lagging so bad. It makes it impossible to
do even the most basic actions like drawing a line. This is only happening in
gimp 2.8. I have to use 2.6 in order for it to work properly. How can I get this
to stop lagging in 2.8?
I have a Huion 420 tablet.

I created an animation of a fish blowing bubbles in gimp 2.8.14. Each set of
bubbles in each frame begins to line up and form a msg. However, I can't figure
out how to erase bubbles in previous layers ( as if they had't yet popped) so it
creates a jumbled mess. Please help.

The least painful way? Look up Imagemagick montage.
What are the dimensions of your photos? You may be able to load them all up
as layers in GIMP and use the G'MIC version of montage as well.

Hi Erika -
I can understand your demand, and unfortunately GIMP is not capable of
that (I wonder if any other raster based software is).
The way you already do it (large square brush + grid) is the only
work-around I can think of.

I just completed a fish blowing bubbles which spells out a msg. However, it
moves too fast. I had already completed the gif before trying to go in to smooth
out the action, and tweak the behavior of the fish. Changed the layer attribute
from 2000 ms to 300 ms, then 3000 and back to 300 ms. However
I suspected that might be the case, but thought it was worth asking just
in case. Thank you though!
(And if anyone does know a piece of software that can do this in an
elegant way, I am all ears! The difficulty I had
in googling the feature made it hard to look for alternatives)

Hi -
I have an ancient script to do jsut that - with nice options to set-up
spacing between each image.
I've just updated it to work with GIMP 2.8/2.9 -- The source code is at:
