maybe the unspoken answer could be, "reinstall 2.8"?

tom,
your best tool would be scribus 1.4.7. scribus is a page layout program
that functions similarly to adobe in design and pagemaker and quarkxpress.
you can import libreoffice or msoffice documents (maybe with a "file/save

my suggestion would be to rename or delete the current installation's Gimp

john and uwe,
here, here. i agree whole-heartedly. gimp is a raster (pixel) based program
while inkscape is a vector (number) based program which produces "smooth"
outlines. scribus is a page layout program that handles the job of
combining raster images, vector images and text into a neat package

hi mark,
first, you could search the web for the answer to your question to find web
sites that answer your query.
or you could scan checked shirt patterns and place them in your design,
or you could create your own check patterns templates by hand,
or use your scans and "remove" the color to cr
hi matt,
i found out that 2.10.10 has a rawtherapee plugin in the program. install
rawtherapee and when you open a raw file it opens rawtherapee, although
unlike the version of gimp with ufraw, be sure to check (if on a mac) the
dock to bring rawtherapee to the front of gimp.

do you have the letter? can you have it re-scanned? can you be there to

hi pinballslave,
the answer to your question is, there is no simple way to "retouch" your
image. clone tool on a copy of your image and practice until you're

hi wicky,
i've had the same problem before. for me it is a font problem. i use a mac
and use true type, open type and mac type1 fonts. when i install the type1
fonts, gimp breaks, if i place them in another directory and link to gimp
in preferences>folders>fonts, the problem disappears. so you coul

go to the online manual and save the page, in the save format drop-down
select "web page complete" (firefox) or export as pdf (safari) under the
