Thanks I got Gimp 1.1.11 compiled it, had to get a few extra packages (i.e. PDL and so on) compiled it again, still got a few errors, but it installed any way (I don't know a thing about compiling and such stuff - will leave it to the guys that do - I just followed the instructions). now my "scr

confused: what ppi to use?

I'm using gimp 1.1.x and am confused about what ppi I should use. All I want to do with the gimp is do some basic text and print it out at the highest resolution possible (my printer is an Optra E, 600dpi). Now, from what I've read, ppi != dpi, so I shouldn't set ppi = 600...what should I set it

Hi! The lightimh effects plugin doesn't have a working zoom/unzoom function. Although it takes some time after clicking on the +/- Button but it displays everytime the same. Is this my fault or isn't it implmented? -- Joachim BibleTime - the bible study program for KDE http://www.bibletime.de/

All I know is that the only way I can change the light source on that plugin is to manually do it. I am unable to click on the image and do it a la Photoshop. I talked to the author and he said that I should be able to do it with the mouse, and there hasn't been an update since May that seems
