I read the github issue discussion, where the claim is made that the Git
for Windows installer does *not* install those shortcuts. That's ridiculous
and untrue -- it most definitely does.

Thanks, I've followed up your response on the ticket there and will put
anything else on that.
GfW is great and until this issue has been very reliable for me. (As well
as using it on Linux environments too).
