I believe you're correct in that email addresses are not revealed there.
But do be careful if you post to any Google Groups and are expecting that
your email address will not be revealed as that isn't the case.

moderators. For the Yahoo and Google groups that I moderate, I don't see
an option to set the from address to the group. This is considered bad
