Where AlphaVantage is concerned, the problem for me is not the throttling.
It's the missing mutual fund prices. I would consider purchasing a premium
key for those. But, hey, except for want of spare time, I could develop a
screen scrape of data I already have in Yahoo and get the same result

sporadically logged. That makes me wonder if stale quotes are being delivered.
But it also makes me wonder if I've been tuned out and am unaware that a

I've recently been using Alpha Vantage for quotes anticipating the end of
the line for Yahoo as a Finance::Quote source. The throttling doesn't slow
things to the point that it is a problem for me, but the results I am

I have a Gnucash file, which I use to track expenses for a jointly owned
property.
Under Assets, I have two accounts. One for myself and one for the other owner.
Under Expenses, I have the Property, and under that I have sub-accounts for the
various types of expenses (eg. Taxes,

FWIW I have fairly complex taxes but i find it easier to run a balance sheet
and income statement for the end of the year and just fill out the Turbotax
questionnaires from that than to maintain the ever-changing relationships
between accounts and TXF categories.

on most distro installs it will be /usr, and on flatpak it's

The totals you see on the account screen will be derived from prices nearest
to the current date. Check the price source you've used in producing the

You can get more logging info by running GnuCash from Terminal with --log
gnc.import=debug. The output is written to the trace file, which you can change
by adding --logto=stderr to send it to the console or --logto=/some/path to

There's nothing to do either.
Do you have a price-source that actually sets a time? Most don't so we set the
default time (10:59 AM UTC) so that the date is right in all timezones.

Do you get that error if you run the same command from a terminal window? The
error implies that it's looking for a nightly build or a self-build from git.

rely on the program, it's a major PITA! Perhaps an option
in the View menu to disable it/choose?
