Gyle, I have sometimes had GnuCash fail to match transactions with equal amounts and dates. I do not know why but I suspect either there is insufficient matching text in the description or there is a different reason blocking the match. In those cases I just import the transaction unmatched,

Yes, the Description/Memo columns spring back. Always grab the right handle and drag left and they will snap to fill the remaining space. You *can* specify the widths numerically, but you have to edit your .gcm file by hand to do so. See the wiki for the file location on your OS:
