In retrospect, I suspect user error in the first place. I now believe
I had the same problem and I think I solved it by making all of the
variables part of a formula, so your transaction would look like:
DB Checking TOTALAMT*1
CR Asset TOTALAMT*1
CR Income A TOTALAMT*1
DB Income B TOTALAMT*1
