Thanks!  That's something I've wanted to do in gnumeric for a long time-- decades!  I tested it out, works good, but found also that things got messed up when I inserted a row in the Autoformated part.  Then doing the same again on the new (but the same) selected area really messed things up... mad

I'm trying to assign the result of an 'if' statement to a cell... put this in the cell: =if(d24>=125000,3650*4d,j30) but it's rejected ("Invalid expression"). So how to do: "IF d24 is greater-than-or-equal-to 125000, THEN multiply 4d by 3650, ELSE use the value in cell j30". tnx _

When I try the gunzip... command I get: "gunzip: stdin: unexpected end of file" I'm using version 1.5.90 (that came with Ubuntu Breezy). Also, after doing the gunzip, the file is now completely empty. I guess it is completely lost. Does gnumeric store a backup of the files somewhere? On Thu
