I have silently and calmly waited for a Win32 binary of this latest
build for a week now.
There isn't going to be a binary, is there?
I have found several bugs (and crashes) in build 1.7.10 but I have not
submitted them since I have no idea if they are already fixed.

IMHO, Jody and Morten have given you a rather complete answer to your
concerns about Win32 builds (in particular, note the fact that Windows
is *not* their development platform).
