The intro paper didn't say much. How does an app gain realtime privileges? Is it a replacement for the realtime thread support in the current kernel? (same API and good old SCHED_FIFO and SCHED_RR?) Then I guess it's still a question of how to let apps gain rt priv... One can run them under set_rli

JACK developers has recommended molnar's rt-preempt patch. Things may have changed, but that was valid very recently. ___ gobolinux-devel mailing list gobolinux-devel@lists.gobolinux.org http://lists.gobolinux.org/mailman/listinfo/gobolinux-devel

how was it, is the realtime lsm patch included in the gobolinux kernel? it's the easiest way to gain realtime privileges, another alternative is set_rlimits which require no kernel patch, but it means you have to run all apps that might ask for realtime threads under set_rlimits which can be hard i

I vouch for this as well. I am more and more recommending gobolinux for audio apps since many audio packages are not maintained on other distros. \\ benjamin On 10/9/07, Jonatan Liljedahl <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Jonatan Liljedahl wrote: > > Hisham Muhammad wrote: > >> On 10/9/07, Jonatan Lil

Would it be possible to include the realtime-lsm patch (http://belnet.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/realtime-lsm/rt-lsm-0.8.7-kernel.patch.gz) in the default gobolinux kernel? It makes it possible for applications to gain realtime privileges without running as root, which is important when working
