I agree about the key server not syncing with others, but there is that one benefit: you CAN delete your keys from keyserver.pgp.com. In fact, if you don't respond to the email message they auto-send every once in a while to verify the account is still active, the key can be auto-deleted (I do

If I recall, PGP/GPG allows you to generate the revocation certificate at any time and you just need to keep it in a safe place. If you forget your passphrase, you can still use that revocation certificate to revoke the key by uploading the cert to the keyserver(s). Semi-related, it seems P
