Evi has made a proposal that has some merit: Supporting and
sponsoring libraries in order to further the profession when the
institutions are unable to do so.
While I'm in favor of discussing the idea, I think our organization
itself should be our first priority. Several people hafe kicked

The Special Collections at The Library of The Jewish Theological
Seminary will be closed from Thursday, November 29th and will reopen
on Wednesday, December 12th. We will be installing an new HVAC
system, cleaning the air ducts and upgrading the monitoring of the
temperature and humidity
A patron brought in a beautiful 1902 prayer book with a
mother-of-pearl cover in need of repair as a few pages are loose. I
would be most appreciative it if you could give me names of reliable
and reasonable antique book restorers. He is in California, but could
