Has anyone had complaints about the Illustrated Jewish Bible for Children
published by DK Publishing? Does it have Christian content? Seeing mixed
reviews online and wanted to get the groups feedback.

I just looked at the book's introduction. It is a book about the Jewish
Bible-- for Christian Children--it's title is misleading. I wonder whether the
rabbi who wrote the foreward was aware of this. I've seen this phenomenon
numerous times in books on Israel or the Middle East -- scholars
Part of the entry for Isaiah has, in my view, a Christian twist.
[Isaiah] told them, too, of the coming of the Messiah, who would bring hope
and the chance of salvation to everyone on earth. Capitalizing Messiah
suggests a deity, salvation here sounds like the Christian understanding of

I never realized it either. Note that there is a difference between DK’s The
Illustrated Jewish Bible for Children and DK’s The Children’s Illustrated
Jewish Bible (with CD). The Illustrated Jewish Bible for Children is the one
for Christians which talks about the Old and New Testament. The

Jesus' circumcision is missing from the corresponding spot on the Abraham's
Two Sons entry, for example. And the Jewish one (as no entry at all for the
