Here's not a bug per se, but a reminder to update things like the README before blessing a final release. The README still says things like "Note, Mar 2014," "WORK IN PROGRESS" and "You can edit ./platform.sh to remove the need for the sandbox." Maybe other files should be updated too; the LICENSE

I am all set if the forthcoming Platform is going to use GHC 7.6.3 (earlier mail of Apr 11 had said 7.6.2) and if this bug is fixed or not present in 7.6.3 (this was not clear to me from the bug which mentions 7.6.3 as a milestone but doesn't say it is closed or fixed in 7.

I'm not sure I understand that bug at all! The unix package is supplied with GHC. You can't, in general, just use a different version. Haskell Platform 2012.4 ships with GHC 7.4.1, which includes unix-2.5.1.1. I wouldn't expect unix-2.6.x.y to work with GHC 7.4.1 at all. Of course unix-2.6.x.y work
