Doing ihc on animal tissue is very tricky, if for no other reason than you are
trying to standardize an antibody across multiple species. You will need to use
every trick in the book and invent some of your own to get reproducible

Apparently, the manufactor had a couple of bad runs. We switched to Avantik
Biogroup Ultra Bond and haven't had a problem since. The bonus was they were

There is a procedure where you can transfer the sections to a charges slide
with a product called mount quick. You can check with newcomer supply they sell
it. I know of several labs that have used it on these occasions and it works

No. Re-hydrating the tissue will remove most (if not all) of the eosin and the
hematoxylin will serve as your counterstain (although you may need to
counterstain again at the end of you protocol). If you use antigen retrieval
for an unstained slide, you will have to use it on the HE-stained
