Because this is a server admin list and everyone needs to know what's out there
so they can watch for it. Personally I find it very helpful. This list is
also connected to valve so they can see it too.

These cheat groups are probably in the back offices at Valve!
We know that the punks that cheat lose interest if they can't win.
Punks that lose interest move on to the next easy game to cheat and win.
That means less players for Valve=less $s for Valve.
C'mon, before we have post ignition, you

It's like Microsoft deliberately shipping buggy versions of Windows to
encourage users to upgrade to next version. Yes, we've heard that kind
of story before :-)

Why does it take so long? Cheats completely degreeds the game, it makes
me less and less inclined to play each time. But Valve already is paid
so I dont suppose it matters... I'm just pulling on Valve

tbh they should do something and i don;t understand why we have to put
up with this shit. coz we are the ppl that have to deal with cheats on
our servers that we run for valve. why i still run valve softeware after
they the way they treat us i don't know.
oh yeah it means i get paid too.

Maybe you should feel inclined to not play ANY games, b/c of the simple fact
that any directx or opengl game can be cheated in some form. It's a fact of
life.
Would you feel less inclined to goto a bank after it was robbed? Robbers =
cheaters.
Do you not buy gasoline? We're being cheated as a
First, as the OP on this thread, I would like to explain my intent in
drawing attention to this: simply to raise awareness and to have some idea
what to encourage our game admins to watch for during play. I am sure that
those who want such hacks as these have no difficulty finding them. Oh and
you'd be suprised.. some fools don't know google exists, you just make
it that much easier. admins nor valve should have to be sent links to
malicious/cheat code.
anyways..

Very well said and in my not-so-humble opinion, you are very much correct.
It's so easy to say that the company or the programmers should be
able to do something about this. The reality of the situation is that
any time you have a complex bit of code, there is always going to be a
way to get

It is quite simply a case of developers more worried about making the game
work, rather than making the game code secure at the very beginning from the
design point onwards.
As I have said before, if you design a platform with security and
