Actually, LILO of linux can and will boot windows OS's just fine.

Linux can be installed with any windows version. However, if you are
not familiar with Linux, you may want to not attempt to put it on your
main machine, especially if it is your only machine. I would recommend
doing a complete backup of your system. Also, you'll need to have an
extra hard drive,

Linux your workstation (gaming client), or on a server?
