You'll need to run without one until either a fix is made by the HUD

Keep in mind that HLDS is meant for server issues, and as such, you
should be posting client issues on other forums of discussion.

 their client is crashing)

look at the end of his email:

Lastly, this is primarily intended to be used on servers that have minimal
administration / running no admin mods. Servers that are heavily
administered already may not need to use this system at all.

So this is a service that caters to those who don't have regular admins or
mods. I'm not sure how many people on this list fall into that category. I
bet Rich ( others) have a much broader view of their customers than
anybody else on this list and may just possibly be designing a feature to a
constituency you're not aware of.

Secondly, hackers/trolls/etc can just make a new account to get around the
system. So it has the same basic limitation as a ban system, and to be
honest, is basically a redundant ban system.

What exactly is the purpose of this system? It seems like a waste of time
 in its current state.

it crashes the client back to OS without any warning or message.

It's frequent and it appears to be happening on other servers aswell, as i
have been told. Can't confirm that 100%, though.

I think it should have something to do with the item server as long as it
 is a synchronized crash.

Basically, the status output is formatted nicely into columns when

stats output are now measured in kilobytes per second.

 Hey guys,

 ** **

A status update on the crashes. I have identified what I think are 3
 different problems.

 ** **

1.) There's a bug in the replay system due to a flaw in libcurl using a
signal to handle DNS timeout. You can avoid this bug by using IP addresses
in your replay config, rather than DNS names. We will have a software
workaround in the next update or so that essentially does this same thing
 automatically.* *

Something's gone wobbly here: I changed config files to point to the server
by IP address, and while the replay test in the console logs says that
replays are enabled, nobody can download anything from the server. Here's a
screenshot from the replay menu:

Re: [hlds] Team Fortress 2 Update Released

2011-07-20 Thread Jesse Porter
This update seems to have really made my server unstable. It's crashed three
times after patching and the log file's filling up with the error below.
DataTable warning: player: Out-of-range value (345.00) in SendPropFloat
'm_angEyeAngles[0]', clamping.

Re: [hlds] FW: [hlds_linux] Server crashes after today's update

2011-07-20 Thread Jesse Porter
I've seen quite a few today that have been pretty hard to pin down.

With the unannounced update (the update before this one I believe), I've

today's update so I'd say no.

  Hello gents,

As you can see, us poor Linux server admins have come across increased
instability with this update. Are Windows users also experiencing
 increased
instability? Disregard the error message in the hlds_linux thread as it
  won't apply on Windows.

I have never enabled replays and the server has crashed once again from
 link
  list.
