This bug has been in the game since release? It doesn't happen all
the time but when I see it happen, it's usually because of a hunter
pouncing the survivors as the lift is going up, some survivors are
pushed away on the side of the ladder and get stuck in it.

If you have problems with either:
1) no players joining the server,
2) sv_search_key not working,
3) sv_steamgroup_exclusive 1 not working,
then add this at the end of your server.cfg in exact order as here (skip
the comments obviously ;):
sv_steamgroup number // remove if not using
Yeah, that could be what happened. Weird that none of us had seen it
before, but I'll take your word for it that it's not new.

Yes, I can confirm that. I can see my L4D servers using HLSW 1.3.1. A bit
scary is that protocol is reported as 242. Yesterday it was 38. :-) Bu I

yes, metamod isn’t detected anymore.

I confirm it works, it made my server appear ingame in group servers.
Thanks!

It's something with your PHP script. My scripts can query updated servers
without any problems.

I needed the setmaster lines to get any players, before adding them to the
config, just typing setmaster in the console would show I had no master
servers in the list (whereas, without setting them explicitly, it would show
me 2 master servers in the list in tf2)
-Original Message-
This is true for our servers too. Before we added setmaster lines, the
servers just sat empty. Now when they restarted, they got full
immediately. setmaster also showed no master servers before this. For
some parts, this update seems to be a dud as it cannot set master
servers automatically.
It's strange as they worked before the update, and still work for my TF2
servers
Can I see your script source?
Thanks

It works fine on linux forked servers (3 physical servers). I've put the

Yep, I wasn't getting much luck with forks before either. It flatly
wouldn't use the setmaster add commands in the config file specified on
the command line with +exec (even though it was pulling the rest of the
vars from there fine). If you manually did a setmaster on an individual

Running Steam update with the -verify_all option fixed the problem.

You can try setting net_splitrate to 300 or so and see if it helps your lag

Dave,
If you wouldn't mind sharing, I'd like to see the perl script that you
are using. I'm currently using a PHP script I found somewhere that is
less than perfect, and I just haven't gotten around to rewriting it in
perl.

I think I know what the problem is... but I don't run LFD servers so
nevermind.
Alternatively if you are bored, paste your whole server startup log without
any setmaster crap.
