Lots of people play on best available ones, atleast that is the case in
Europe. This is due to no free Valve servers being available close and
they always end up to US servers with 150ms pings or just cannot get any
servers to play on. Besides, if the players use

I am sorry for the rant. I happy now.
I just read on msn that heidi montag is divorcing spencer.

So we,admins on this list are best available and only Valve is Official? If

One thing that I would like to see is a change so that if you can't
find a server you don't automatically go into localhost
The main reason you saw such a big drop in players is because Valve
decided to change the default lobby setting from "Best Available
Dedicated" to "Official Dedicated", so the majority of the players are
playing on Valve's official servers and only a minority of people
actually change that to B

Before the major update like maybe 2 months ago I was high on the horse. I
am small time (I run 10 boxes off of 5 ip's) I had a couple of decent
ranked stock l4d2 servers. I was thinking "oh yeah baby"- I was like a
little kid checking game-monitor.com every two days. Then after the update

Milton here on this list from Valve has previously stated that they run
around 40 instances per machine. Overall there are somewhat 2500-3000
servers total from Valve to L4D/L4D2.

It's still annoying to have to do that, though.
It's a recent development, before it would at least make a backup before

Put this line in your server.cfg: motdfile "somefile.txt"
where the somefile.txt is your motd. Then it won't get overwritten and
doesn't matter if the default one does. You can do the hostfile.

we should just be happy about valve actually doing something (unlike css
before the engine update).

The changes are due to the weekly Mutation Mod, which most people
don't play anymore. I think the frequency is too fast, maybe once a
month, but weekly is too much of a headache.

Do you seriously think that having updates is a bad thing? Though I
agree that the time isn't exactly favorable to people in europe (10-11pm
