I found this:
1) Although in the MasterServer2.vdf port 27010 is advertised, the
hl1 master server is currently on port 27011. The Steam server browser
is apparently using the latter.
2) Some service is still active on port 27010 on the same IP, but as
mentioned earlier the reply from this port
The current hl1 master servers are :
69.28.158.131:27012
68.177.101.62:27011
69.28.158.131:27011
68.177.101.62:27010
The file MasterServer2.vdf is a cache and can contain outdated IPs.

Hello,
We have seen that the servers for Counter-Strike Source and Team
Fortress 2, use a public and private ip, we have realized that the
private IP is added in the start server line +ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. and
the public IP is the first IP assigned to the network card.
version : 1.0.0.68/19
To solve the problem do use +IP 0.0.0.0 in the startline.

If it's a public server, then there shouldn't be any private IP. You should
specify the public IP of the box using +ip aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd in the command
line. Is you server behind a NAT?

It would appear as if something has gone wrong with the location
filter in TF2. All servers, with very few exceptions, appears only
using the US - East filter regardless of actual location.
Personally I only get 2 servers using the Europe filter. I had an
admin confirm and he had the same problem,

I reported this issue to Valve some time ago. Current workaround is to use
-steamport in your command line and forward steamport and steamport+1 on
your NAT. There is a sv_master_share_game_socket variable which should
instruct server to use game port instead of steamport+1 but it is ignored
by
Running several servers on a machine, only one of them keep crashing. Tried
everything.. Nothing in serverlogs, but I'm getting core dumps and dumps in
/tmp/dumps..
How to open them? How do I find out what the problem is? I think its HLDS that
have problems with different custom maps.
I believe it to be more of a bug than anything else.
My own server has sv_region set up just fine, but it does not show up in
that region at all (Europe, but shows up in US-East)
As do many other servers that I know have it set up properly.

It updated now. I'm thinking it might not be a cache, but some manual
thing much like the DNS record of the FQDN of the HL1+2 master
servers.
The latter is just an IP, so 3rd party tools can no longer rely on
specific ports being used as it was described in the VDC:
Steam is having trouble all day, losing connection all the time.
Anyone know what's going on?

Hi,
Yep, the whole of Steam seems to have gone titsup. Way to go Valve! :-/
Don't get me wrong, I love Steam and I love Valve. Just these 'episodes'
are far too frequent and far too prolonged for a system like this.

If you completely reinstalled the software on another machine (different
