The last week or two I have seen a sharp uptick in the number of
aimbot reports come in. Most often, they involve a spy using either
the enforcer or the ambassador and a dead ringer.
I try to take such accusations seriously, so I have spectated these
players and I have seen a few I would swear
We've released client updates for CS:S and DoD:S to fix the in-game overview
maps. Some shared files were updated so the server binaries were also updated,
but there aren't actually any changes on the server side of things.

I myself haven't experienced an aimbotter for a few months, not since I
installed SMAC (SourceMod Anti-Cheat) and enabled aimbot protection in it.
It does give a few false positives, but it has maybe banned one innocent
player per 20 confirmed aimbotters. Which I find acceptable.

I just checked my SMAC logs, and only saw 1 false positive in the past
month. No confirmed. Maybe you're being targeted by the same person on f2p
accounts?

There is at least 1-2 cheaters detected per day with DBlocker (
http://dblocker.didrole.com/) on my server. Unfortunately, banning them is
useless, they just create a new steam account every time.

Thanks all for the suggestions. SMAC with aimbot protection seems like
a good way to start, since I am already running sourcemod.
Never thought to look for such a plugin.

It's difficult to say without seeing a demo ourselves.
It's the Xmas holidays, kids are off school et al, perhaps
On CSS its daily routine to get a few with SMAC. Don't know if that's normal
but we almost never get a complaint on the forum.

This is where votekicks/bans work well. If I cannot tell someone is hacking
but I've gotten enough reputable complaints then I will just start a
banvote, but only ban for 2 or 3 days. If they ARE aimbotting then they
probably will just assume they've been banned for ever and won't be coming
back.
Was there a recent update? Sometimes I find my server failing an update but
trying to start anyways - getting stuck in a crash loop. Try to re-update
and worst case scenario do a -verify_all just to make sense.
Does this happen with plugins installed? According to the crash error

I'm still seeing that tf2 items line failure to load etc on a server
restart...and again I've seen several if not half a server of mine have
clients crashing which to me says its something from the server. This hasn't
happened until the recent big Xmas updatesomething is causing these
issues
