Ray,
I quote a very wise man in Los Angeles:
'It's funny how IBM announcements often seem to generate more questions than
they answer.'
So true!

I have to agree with Tony and many of the others, especially Radislaw's
comments about auditors needing to be taught. One has to accept, of course,
that many of them are MBAs (!) who work for the Big Auditors, but sadly have

John Gilmore's comment is priceless (as ever).

Hi all... just coming back to the list after nearly 19 months out of work.
Well stated John. As the Brits are not party to the Euro, their prices are
different to the rest of Europe (and not being physically attached to 'Europe',
why should the Brits adopt European ways anyway - we could discuss that issue
for days!). I recall back in the 70s being able to buy 3330

Just been to Ontario. I had to buy beer at a Beer Store (owned by a few brewers
and none in the supermarket) at exorbitant prices, and if I wanted wine or
liquor, had to go to the State owned LCBC where prices are about twice what
they are in the US.
My apologies... I meant Province... not State...

Mr. Prickett Morgan is known to be hysterically (sorry, meant to say
historically) anti-IBM in his musings. He's been a journalist watching IBM for
20 years, so he must be an expert on all things mainframes, musn't he? Most
people on this Forum take his comments with large quantities of salt.
Mr Timothy Prickett Morgan is not and never has been a great fan of mainframes.
If you have ever read his comments, he always comes across as being anti-M/F
and to some extent anti-IBM. As to the number of M/F sites in the world today?
Where did he get this number from? As Bobbie Justice said,

my knowledge!).

footage of the disaster. It was a shocking experience just watching it, let
alone be there. My thoughts and prayers are with you and the families that have

Of course, this could refer to Toronto, Ohio which is not far from Canada!
Which is also rumored to be one of the first places to buy an NCR product from
Mr. Watson himself.
