Static versus dynamic linking

Hi List, we are planning to go from static linking under IMS to dynamic linking, COBOL transactions with DB2 access. The main reason for us is to avoid relinking in case of modules are changed. Are there any pitfalls, pros and cons about that? e.g. more CPU cycles and thus higher Software cos
