Hi,
Thanks for replying , Scott and Paolo. I am starting to understand the issue.
My IOCDS looks like :
CNTLUNIT CUNUMBR=1000,PATH=((CSS(0),20,22,23,30)),*
UNITADD=((00,256)),CUADD=0,UNIT=1750
IODEVICE ADDRESS=(300,196),CUNUMBR=(1000),STADET=Y,UNIT=3390B
And
Hi,
In the IOCDS , I have mentioned device address as (300,196) and (1100,196).
But the Storage engineer has formatted the devices starting from 2100 instead
of 1100.
I think that should not be a problem. But I am not sure.
Also , is there a power up sequence. Like should the DS8K be powered up
Hi,
We have a DS8700 Storage Box. IOCDS works fine during POR and activation.
We did a Tape boot with ICKDSF and tried to INIT a disk volume and got the
following error.
ICK011E I/O error, Device not attached.2100
where 2100 is the unit address which I used in the INIT command
Is there some c
Hi,
On the Z800 , we had a separate 2074 controller for SNA Connectivity. In the
Z10BC , I understand , its integrated into the HMC. How do I configure the same
for an LPAR? Is there documentation that describes it? I have looked everywhere
but could not find it. Any pointers?

Thanks Brian for the answers.
Will it be ok restoring the volumes for the first time from ZOS? How does the
restore job know on which device address to restore the ZVM volume? Same for
the Linux Volumes?
I will check the ZVM and Z Linux lists as well as suggested by you.

Hi,
I am moving LPARs from one Z10 BC to another.
One is a Zos 1.10 and the other is ZVM 5.4 having Linux images.
I have built IODF and IOCDS for the new Mainframe similar to the old one but
taking into account the new devices using HCD.
I will do a Dump restore of the ZOS and bring it up.

Is this patch applied?
Try the local fix.

It's not an issue of outsourcing. I don't think there is any kind of
discrimination in India whatsoever. Its only that the GOI has National Security
concerns wrt hacking etc.

Hi,
Thanks everyone. There was a syntax error in the IEASVC00 Member. I removed the
last line with *** and IPLd.
I am now able to do the INITRCON.
Thanks everyone who replied. Even the local IBM folks could not help.
Special thanks to Lizette and Binyamin !!

Hi,
When this happens , I shutdown IMS , DB2 and MQ. Then start TCPIP and later
start IMS , DB2 and MQ.
This works for me. Happens rarely, but when it does , this is what I do.
