Russel, thank you for letting me know that CopyCat doesn't work.
Allan, I have reviewed the parts in the manual pointing to Tapecopy and DR and,
despite what it said there, tried some tapecopies. They failed - the unit is
not compatiable.

Can the VTS be configured to emulate the physical tape type? If it
can, create new volumes on the physical tape type and recycle the old
type of virtual tape.

Actually, if the original point was to create multiple copies of the ML2
tapes directly what about directing the original ML2 allocation to a Virtual
Tape Solution with some level of replication and/or deduplication? That
would then give you two direct copies of the ML2 Virtual Volume. Gra

Very seriously doubt it. CopyCat has hooks into CA

We don't have VDR, but we do have CA1 copycat. I actually thought about that,
but I think that would not be possible since HSM is controlling the tapes and
not CA1.
I am in the process testing the tape copy to get the alternate volume to native
3590.
