If not, is the TESTSAUTH in the IKJTSOxx member of parmlib?

Subject: RACF syntax to permit TSO user to use TESTAUTH
Tom,
I think (I wrote the requirement), I was the one that requested
SMPE to create the forfmid at SHARE way long time ago. I was having
issues with stringing out the ptfs, mine got to 3 continuation
cards . It was for an obscure product that I dearly loved.

Yes.
You should apply the maintenance that is available, using your standard
methodology.
Everyone has different preferences, but IMO
PERMIT TESTAUTH CLASS(TSOAUTH) ID(TSOID)
ACC(upd)

Review and attend to the Migration Guide Notes.
They are very very helpful.

Thanks Lizette.
The double * must be new (within the last 25 years :-) ).
Back in the day only a single * could be used to replace a single qualifier.
It was great for GDSs (ie. HLQ.GDGBASE.*).

As a takeoff on this what is the easiest way to rename hlqold.*.** to
hlqnew.*.**
In most cases vsam files aren't in the mix.

Everything is well documented. One overlooked documented item was the return
code change from LISTCAT of a GDG base with no entries. V1R13 gave RC = 4. V2R1
RC = 0. Documented workaround as well.

Hi
We are upgrading our operating system from 1.13 to 2.1.
So apart from toleration maintenance are there any other Things to be
looked from the OS perspective?
Would somebody share the steps taken at your shop ?

The only major change we had to do in my previous shop was to migrate from
BPX.DEFAULT.USER to BPX.UNIQUE.USER in order to migrate RACF AIM stage to 3.
This is very well described in the manual I've shown in my previous note.
If by easiest you mean least human activity, DFSMSdss can replace the HLQ as
part of a copy.
If by easiest you mean least CPU activity, then a simple CLIST or REXX you
invoke from a 3.4 dataset list might be suitable.
Neither approach will handle archived or tape datasets well. Both can

Hello Nathan,
You might want to take a look at z/OS Migration - GA32-0889-04 manual =

With OS upgrades I pretty much follow you.
What seems to be lost in the haze is when you have major upgrades
(like COBOL or LE). With those two I will take exception.
15 or 20 years ago we had gone through the upgrade. After the upgrade
(with a LOT of battle wounds) I swear IBM
