Hi Carmen,
Just taking a SWAG based on prior history, I would guess you're looking
at the end of 2026 for the z13 or z13s to fall off support.

I understand IBM has not officially published the EOL for the z13 processors
but I'm wondering if anyone knows in advance when that date 'may be'?

thanks, yes we got as much bang out of the box as we could before EOS,
and the plan was to 'outsource' or move the prod processing to a cloud
provider. now it looks like leadership has decided to purchase a new
processor, but they'd like to get every bit
and it is looking like we will not be running z/OS after
that.

AFAIK it is not yet announced, but it seems it could be 2026 or 2027. I
mean EOS - end of support.
However this is one of several "end of life" dates. You cannot purchase
any upgrade to z13, including microcode activation of resources already
present in the machine.
z/OS 2.5 still supports z13,
Rex

we're looking at some hardware options, and pricing some software, and if we
had an idea when our z13 was EOL that would help us make some decisions
